Body composition & Resting metabolic rate

TO GET THE MOST ACCURATE RESULTS:

1. Please come fasted

  • No food, drink, or coffee for at least 4 hours. Small sips of room temperature water is okay but please make sure that you are not having anything within an hour of testing.
     

2. No exercise within 4 hours before your test

3. Wear form fitting clothes

  • Non-cotton

  • Most women prefer to wear a one-piece bathing suit or compression shorts and a sports bra.

  • Men are required to wear compression shorts or speedo (non-cotton).

  • Please also take note that you will have to wear a lycra swim cap for about 3 minutes while you are in the BOD POD. We provide the swim caps. We do have dressing rooms you can utilize.

There is a direct correlation between oxygen consumed and calories burned (4.813 calories for every milliliter of oxygen consumed). An accurate measurement of oxygen consumption (i.e. The REEVUE) is one of the most effective measurements of calorie consumption. 

The REEVUE directly measures the concentration of oxygen you breath out and calculates your resting metabolic rate (RMR). This can determine your caloric requirements for weight loss, maintenance, or weight gain.
